Brazil Hosts CICB Sustainability Forum for the Leather Industry in March 2025

The global leather industry is embracing sustainability with renewed vigor, and the upcoming CICB Sustainability Forum 2025 is set to reinforce its position as the go-to platform for progressive ideas and discussions.

Scheduled for March 19, 2025, during the 48th Fimec in Novo Hamburgo, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, this event promises to bring together experts, companies, and institutions under the central theme of “Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) in the Leather Industry.”

The CICB Sustainability Forum, organized by the Brazilian Leather project in partnership with the Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry (CICB) and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil), has consistently driven impactful conversations around sustainable practices.

Key sponsors for the 2025 edition include:

  • Gold Sponsors: Stahl Leather, Abrameq with Master, NBN, Bremm Beck and Michelon, and Minerva Leather.
  • Silver Sponsors: Getti, Viposa and Vancouros, and Sincurt.

The event will feature lectures and panels that delve into how Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) are revolutionizing leather production.

LCA, a comprehensive method for assessing environmental impacts throughout a product’s lifecycle, has gained prominence in shaping sustainable strategies and guiding public and private policies in the leather sector.

This year’s forum will unite a diverse array of stakeholders, including:

  • Tanneries and Leather Brands
  • Consultants and Chemical Sector Partners
  • Sustainability Experts

Since its inception in 2012, the CICB Sustainability Forum has built a reputation as a forward-thinking platform where the industry’s future is debated and shaped. For the third consecutive year, it will align with Fimec, an international event celebrated for its emphasis on innovation and technology.

The excitement for the CICB Sustainability Forum 2025 continues to build as registration details will soon be announced on the Brazilian Leather website. Participants are encouraged to stay updated to secure their spot at this event.
