China's Leather Industry Exports Fall 10.9% to $82.7 Billion in 2025

The China Leather Industry Association (CLIA) said China’s leather industry saw a drop in revenue and trade in 2025. Key enterprises recorded lower sales while both exports and imports declined during the year.

The leather industry in China reported a 13.1% fall in sales revenue from key enterprises compared to the previous year.

Exports from the China leather industry reached $82.72 billion in 2025. This marks a drop of 10.9% year-on-year (YOY)

Imports also declined during the same year. China imported leather goods worth $15.53 billion, which is 10.2% lower compared to the previous year.

These numbers highlight an overall contraction in both domestic performance and international trade for the China leather industry in 2025.
