Dr KJ Sreeram Takes Over Outstanding Scientist Position After Completing 6 Year Tenure as CSIR CLRI Director

Dr KJ Sreeram has taken on a new role as Outstanding Scientist at CSIR CLRI after completing his six year tenure as Director where he will be Mentoring Researchers in the area of Sustainable Leather Process Technologies, Footwear for Footcare and India Footwear Sizing Programs.

During his term as Director he steered key initiatives including the Indian foot sizing system BHA that aims to bring consistent sizing across the country.

He also led projects on footwear for women healthcare carbon neutrality in leather processing and advanced materials for safer durable footwear.

Dr Sreeram is widely respected for his expertise in sustainable leather chemistry with more than 100 research papers and several patents to his name.

He also continues to head the department of leather technology, Anna University housed at CSIR-CLRI where more than 200 students are currently pursuing bachelors and masters programs.
