Fresh trade data from the French leather industry association Alliance France Cuir shows that total France’s footwear exports including regular footwear and slippers reached €4.45 billion from January to October 2025. In the same period of 2024 exports stood at €4.58 billion. This marks a fall of about ~3% year on year.
The first 9 months of 2025 recorded exports of €4.06 billion. This means France shipped around €390 million worth of footwear in October alone. Compared to the January to September total this reflects a growth of about 9.6% in the 10th month.
A deeper look at categories shows a similar trend. Footwear excluding slippers category brought in €4.43 billion from January to October 2025 compared to €4.54 billion a year earlier. This is a decline of about ~3%.
Slippers category saw a sharper drop. Exports fell to €29.7 million in the first 10 months of 2025 from €36.0 million in the same period of 2024. This is a steep fall of around ~17%.
