The 55th edition of Futurmoda attracted more than 4,100 professional visitors during its 2 day event at IFA‑Fira Alacant, Alicante, Spain reinforcing its role as a key meeting point for the leather and allied industries.
Exhibiting companies and industry professionals said the quality of visitors was particularly strong this year. Many companies reported establishing new business contacts with potential clients, highlighting the fair’s growing importance as a commercial platform for the footwear and fashion supply chain.
The event also recorded strong international attendance. Buyers and professionals travelled from countries including Italy, Portugal, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Türkiye and China.
Alvaro Sanchez, CEO of Association of Footwear Components Manufacturers of Spain (AEC) and Futurmoda, said the number of visitors surpassed expectations with more than 4,000 professionals from different nationalities attending the event. According to her, the turnout shows the sector’s continued interest and the commitment of manufacturers to industrial production in Spain.
Alongside the exhibition, the Expert Forum hosted discussions on artificial intelligence in footwear, industrial digitalisation, sustainability and internationalisation. The Futurmoda Green Planet space also showcased sustainable materials, circular economy solutions and traceability innovations.
The industry will meet again on March 10 at the Elche Congress Centre for the presentation of Autumn-Winter 2027-2028 trends, marking the start of the next creative and commercial cycle for the sector.
