LSSC and Amity University Begin Talks to Set Up Skill University for Leather Sector

A high level delegation from the leather industry met top officials at Amity University Noida to push forward a plan that could reshape future training in the sector.

The team was led by Shri Mukhtarul Amin who heads the Leather Sector Skill Council and is CMD of Superhouse Group.

He was joined by Shri Sanjay Leekha, former CLE Chairman Shri Subhash Kapoor, COA Member CLE and Shri Sanjay Kumar, CEO of the Leather Sector Skill Council.

They met Prof Gurinder Singh, the Group Vice Chancellor of Amity University to discuss a proposal to set up a dedicated Skill University for the leather sector.

The two sides explored ideas around global tie ups to build a world class campus in Greater Noida. The talks included curriculum planning international academic partnerships and industry driven training models that match global standards.

The delegation said a detailed proposal with a clear action plan will now be prepared. The aim is to create India’s first full fledged Skill University focused on leather education that can support the industry’s growing workforce needs.
