PrimeAsia Expands Vietnam Tannery to 8 Million Square Feet Monthly Capacity and Rebrands for the Future

PrimeAsia Leather has successfully completed its Vietnam expansion project, increasing its monthly production capacity to 8 million square feet. At the same time, PrimeAsia has unveiled a rebranding initiative, positioning itself as a future-forward tannery that meets evolving industry demands.

As part of the expansion, PrimeAsia Vietnam has added a third manufacturing plant with eight fully automated production drums. The upgraded facility will cater to the rising demand for leather from global sports brands, ensuring improved efficiency and quality.

To celebrate this milestone, PrimeAsia hosted a Recognition Celebration at the expanded tannery, featuring facility tours, a cultural ceremony, and a banquet to honor the dedication of its teams and partners on March 8, 2025.

The expansion also includes:

  • New retanning and coloring capacity with a third retanning mezzanine.
  • A dedicated building for the sample retanning and coloring team.
  • A fourth pigment finishing line to support the growing demand for athletic leathers.
  • Advanced drying and conditioning equipment for better leather processing.
  • Upgraded wastewater treatment (WWTP) and solid waste handling technologies to enhance sustainability.

The leather industry is undergoing a transformation, with new competitors, evolving consumer expectations, and sustainability challenges reshaping the market. To stay ahead, PrimeAsia is reasserting its position as the premier partner for global footwear brands with a new brand identity.

“We aimed to energize our brand while honoring our heritage. This new identity reflects who we are today and where we’re headed—blending design excellence, operational strength, and sustainability.”

Steve Savino, President of Global Marketing

At the core of PrimeAsia’s rebrand is the principle “Accelerate Ahead”, ensuring that its partners stay ahead in a fast-paced industry.

This philosophy is built on four key pillars including Breakthrough Design, Operational Excellence, Prime-Crafted and Global Support

The rebranding ensures consistency across digital platforms, product labels, and trade show displays, creating a recognizable and flexible brand identity for the modern market.

“We’re excited about this expansion and its potential. Our team worked tirelessly to make it happen and will continue providing exceptional, sustainable leathers. PrimeAsia addresses global supply chain risks, ensuring Security of Supply for our customers.”

Jonathan Clark, CEO, PrimeAsia Leather
