Puducherry Govt Forms Minister Led Committee to Resolve Dispute Between Hidesign and Its Employees

The Puducherry Government has stepped in to resolve the ongoing labor dispute at Hidesign’s leather factory in Odhiampet near Villianur reports The Hindu.

A committee has been formed under the leadership of Public Works Department Minister K. Lakshminarayanan.

This decision came after a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister N. Rangasamy. Leader of Opposition R. Siva and representatives from both the factory management and employees were also present.

The workers had gone on strike demanding better wages, bonuses, transport support and dearness allowance. After a meeting with R. Siva the employees agreed to return to work for now.

The newly formed committee is now responsible for holding discussions with both the management and the employees to address the demands raised by the workers.
