Scottish Leather Group Acquires Aerotech Systems

Scottish Leather Group the parent company of Muirhead, Bridge of Weir and Lang has acquired Manchester-based engineering firm Aerotech Systems Limited in the UK, bringing UK CAA Part 21G Production Organisation Approval (POA) into its operations to support aviation cabin interiors development.

Scottish Leather Group produces high performance leather for aviation and other industries and now with this acquisition it combines certification approval with its existing design, engineering and production capabilities.

The company says across the aviation sector, organisations face rising pressure from strict certification rules, tight timelines and complex supply chains. By adding Part 21G approval in-house, Scottish Leather Group aims to simplify these challenges and offer a more coordinated approach.

The company said this integration brings certification closer to product development stages. This helps reduce delays, improve consistency and create a smoother path for certified seating programmes from concept to final delivery.

Its product offering now includes BioPRO Foam, high performance aviation leather and engineered seat covers, all supported by internal certification expertise. This creates a single, integrated seating solution for aircraft interiors.

The company also added that this approach helps partners manage changing aviation requirements with more confidence. It also supports better consistency across cabin interiors while reducing overall complexity in programme execution.
