Stahl, a global leader in specialty coatings, has just opened its Center of Excellence in León, Mexico to support its customers in Latin America more closely.
The new facility includes modern offices, advanced labs, and upgraded testing setups. It’s designed to help customers create better, more sustainable leather and performance coatings for shoes, cars, clothes, and furniture.
This upgrade is part of a bigger global expansion by Stahl. In the past year, they have doubled capacity in China, built a new plant in Ranipet, India, launched labs in Japan and the US, and opened a new facility in Singapore.
“Mexico is an important market for Stahl, with a strong base of automotive, fashion and footwear customers,”
Maarten Heijbroek, CEO, Stahl
The new León center is much larger than the old one. It gives customers a complete experience from design and product development to hands-on training and testing.
It’s also part of Stahl’s growing global network, which includes over 30 application labs, 10 Centers of Excellence, and 15 factories.
“This new regional capability strengthens our customer intimate business model. Here we can directly collaborate with our customers and brands, speed up our customer’s innovations and deliver according to regional needs. Our focus remains on co-creating products that touch lives, while always contributing to a better world.”
Saul Rios, Managing Director, Stahl LATAM
During the opening, guests toured the facility’s main areas. They saw showrooms for leather goods and cars, a leather finishing lab, a testing lab, and the Stahl Campus® classroom. The day ended with a networking event inside the new labs.
