An important webinar is happening on April 16, 2025, focusing on traceability and due diligence in the leather supply chain, especially in Pakistan and Bangladesh.
This online session comes as the European Union’s new Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) is expected to reshape trade practices starting in 2026. The goal is to help businesses understand what’s coming and how they can stay prepared.
The webinar will start at 2:00 PM Pakistan time and will last for one and a half hours. It will be hosted on Zoom and is open to industry professionals around the world.
The event will bring together global experts including Henrique Pacini, Sohail Ali Naqvi, Elzette Henshilwood, Adeel Younas, Dr Ebenezer Laryea, Anne S. Nistad, and Mathieu Lamolle. They will dive into some of the biggest issues facing the leather industry today.
Topics will include current traceability problems in Pakistan and Bangladesh, what the new EU regulation means for exporters, and how to use innovative tools to make supply chains more transparent.
The webinar will bring together industry experts and stakeholders to discuss how both countries can prepare. It will share insights from two ongoing projects under the Sustainable Manufacturing and Environmental Pollution (SMEP) programme, funded by the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) and implemented by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).
