Applications are now open for the 2026 Young Leather Scientist Grant by the International Union of Leather Technologists and Chemists Societies (IULTCS). The program aims to encourage innovative research that will help make the leather industry more sustainable and efficient.
The grant is open to young researchers working on basic leather science, sustainability, or advancements in leather machinery and testing. Selected candidates will receive €1,500 in funding for each research category.
Winners will also gain international recognition from IULTCS and get the opportunity to present their work to experts from across the world.
In previous years projects have covered areas such as zeolite tanning and polymer chemistry, introducing new ideas that have influenced the industry.
The deadline for applications is November 30, 2025.
