France’s leather glove sector closed its first nine months of 2025 with modest overall growth yet sharp swings inside its three key segments.
Fresh data from the French Leather Industry Association Alliance France Cuir reveals that entire gloves category reached €22.22 million in exports, slightly higher than €21.72 million in the same period last year which is a 2% rise.
Sport gloves took the biggest hit. Exports fell from €5.43 million to €4.27 million which is a steep 21% drop. This suggests weaker demand in performance and athletic products where competition from low cost markets remains intense.
Protection gloves moved in the opposite direction. Shipments grew from €9.40 million to €9.78 million marking a 4% increase.
Fashion gloves delivered the strongest jump. Exports rose from €6.89 million in the first 9 months of 2024 to €8.17 million in 2025 which is a sharp 19% rise.
