Vikas Mahtani has been re-elected as the Regional Chairman for the West zone of the Council for Leather Exports (CLE) following the successful conclusion of its 2026 – 2028 elections. The process was overseen by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, highlighting its importance for India’s leather export sector.
The elections were conducted under the supervision of the Office of the Joint Development Commissioner, MEPZ. As per official communication dated 27.02.2026 and proceedings issued on 18.03.2026, the Council has now completed the full election process.
With this, the Council has officially reconstituted its Committee of Administration (COA) for the 2026 – 2028 term. The new governing body includes 32 members along with 5 Regional Chairmen representing different parts of the country.
The structure aims to ensure balanced representation across all segments and panels of the leather industry. This includes exporters, manufacturers and other key stakeholders who play a role in India’s leather trade ecosystem.
Vikas Mahtani’s re-election signals continuity in leadership for the western region, which remains a key hub for leather exports in India.
The newly formed committee will now be responsible for guiding the Council’s direction over the next two years, focusing on industry growth and representation.
