Hermès Opens New Leather Goods Factory in France, Creating 280 Jobs

Hermès has inaugurated its 23rd leather goods factory in Riom, France, adding 280 local jobs. The Maroquinerie de Riom employs 250 artisans trained in the brand’s signature craftsmanship. This expansion aligns with Hermès’ focus on sustainable, responsible production.

Located in a renovated historic building, the factory integrates eco-friendly practices, including the reuse of materials and natural ventilation systems.

The site joins Hermès’ Auvergne hub, enhancing local artisan training through the École Hermès des savoir-faire, supporting the brand’s long-term strategy to produce all collections in France.

With three more workshops planned across France, Hermès continues to invest in local communities, sustainable growth, and exceptional craftsmanship.
