50 Year Old Leather Factory Worker Found Dead inside Water Tank in Vaniyambadi

Vaniyambadi, Tamil Nadu – A 50-year-old worker, identified as S. Vinoth, was found dead in an open water tank belonging to a private leather factory. The tragic discovery, made on Saturday, brought shock to the local community and raised questions about the factory’s safety protocols.

Vinoth, who had reportedly been missing for two days, was found after his body floated to the top of the six-foot-deep tank, which had no lid or other protective cover.

Police believe he may have accidentally fallen into the open tank, as it lacked a safety structure. Vinoth’s family had been searching for him but had not filed a missing persons complaint prior to the body’s discovery, authorities said.

The tank, previously unused, had filled with rainwater due to recent showers in the area.

An official from the factory, which had been out of operation for two months, confirmed that the tank was abandoned and that no safety measures had been placed around it.

Upon learning of Vinoth’s death, his family suspected possible foul play in his demise. The factory management eventually agreed to compensate the family.

The factory spokesperson revealed that Vinoth was allegedly in an Intoxicated state when he fell into the tank.

When questioned about the factory’s responsibility to secure the tank area, the spokesperson explained that a steel mesh net was supposed to cover the tank. However, no further clarification was offered on why the protective cover failed to prevent such an accident.
