A devastating fire broke out on Thursday the 26th December morning at a leather factory in the Jajmau area, causing panic among employees and local residents. The incident occurred at a shoe upper manufacturing factory owned by Anwar Ali in the Lari Compound of Ashrafabad, reportedly due to an electrical short circuit.
Smoke billowing from the factory alerted some employees, who immediately informed senior staff and the authorities. Two fire tenders and local police arrived promptly at the scene, working tirelessly for about an hour to bring the flames under control. Their swift action ensured that the fire was contained before it could spread to neighboring structures.
“Upon arrival, firefighters faced a challenging situation as a chamber in the factory was broken, hindering their access. One team tackled the fire directly from inside, while another climbed onto the roof to spray water from multiple angles. Their coordinated efforts succeeded in extinguishing the fire efficiently.”
Chief Fire Officer (CFO) Deepak Sharma
Fortunately, no casualties or injuries were reported in the incident. The CFO confirmed that the fire is believed to have been caused by a short circuit, though a thorough investigation is underway to determine the exact cause.
