IULTCS Welcomes New Leadership Team for Key Committees

The International Union of Leather Technologists and Chemists Societies (IULTCS) has announced a transition in its leadership. The organization has appointed Dr. Giancarlo Lovato, Dr. Christine Anscombe, and Mr. Simon Neifer to helm three significant committees, marking a new chapter in fostering innovation and collaboration within the leather industry.

The IULTCS officers extended heartfelt gratitude to the outgoing committee leaders for their invaluable contributions. Dr. Campbell Page was acknowledged for his exemplary leadership as the ISO Committee Manager.

Similarly, Ivan Kral and Julian Osgood were commended for their dedication as former Chairs of the Training and Liaison Committees, respectively. Their efforts have left a strong foundation for the incoming leaders to build upon.

Dr. Giancarlo Lovato – ISO IULTCS Committee Manager

Dr. Lovato, a seasoned expert in leather chemistry, will take charge as the new Committee Manager for ISO IULTCS. Currently serving as Director of Research at Corichem in Italy, Dr. Lovato is responsible for developing cutting-edge leather chemicals and technologies.

His impressive track record includes roles such as Secretary of the Italian Association of Leather Chemists (AICC) from 2019 to 2022 and President of the Organizing Committee of the III IULTCS EuroCongress in Vicenza 2022.

Dr. Christine Anscombe – Training Commission Chair

Dr. Anscombe, a stalwart in the leather industry with over 40 years of experience, has been appointed as the new Chair of the Training Commission.

Currently the Assistant Director at SATRA in the UK, she has also chaired the British Standards Institute Committee for Leather and Footwear.

A former President of the Society of Leather Technologists and Chemists, Dr. Anscombe is a co-initiator of the Supporters of Leather Education and Science (SOLES), a group dedicated to advancing global leather education.

Mr. Simon Neifer – Liaison Committee Chair

With over 20 years in the leather industry, Mr. Neifer has assumed the role of Liaison Committee Chair. He is the Head of Sales & Application Leather at Pulcra Chemicals GmbH and has a wealth of experience in sales, technical applications, and product development.

His career spans international leadership roles across Germany, China, and Thailand, making him a valuable asset to IULTCS.

The new committee leaders will play pivotal roles in shaping the future of IULTCS. They aim to drive innovative initiatives, strengthen global partnerships, and support advancements in leather technology and education. The organization is optimistic about this fresh chapter and looks forward to achieving shared goals under the guidance of these accomplished professionals.
