Italian Luxury Brand Zegna to Open New Footwear and Leather Goods Factory in Italy

Luxury fashion giant Ermenegildo Zegna has announced plans to establish a new state-of-the-art footwear and leather goods manufacturing facility in northern Italy. The move reflects the brand’s commitment to preserving Italian craftsmanship and meeting the growing demand for high-end luxury products.

The new facility, spanning 12,500 square meters, will be built near Parma, Italy, a region known for its artisanal excellence. The project is set to be completed by December 2026 and will create more than 300 new jobs when operating at full capacity by 2027.

This expansion comes at a crucial time for the luxury industry, which is facing a shortage of skilled artisans. Many luxury brands are actively working to secure the future of craftsmanship by investing in training and manufacturing infrastructure.

“The centre will be more than just a production facility. It will play an important role as a training ground for a new generation of artisans, ensuring the ongoing viability of these important skills and working to preserve the uniqueness of ‘Made in Italy'”

Gildo Zegna, CEO

Beyond production, Zegna aims to make the facility a training center for a new generation of artisans. The company’s chairman and CEO, Gildo Zegna, emphasized the importance of passing down craftsmanship skills to preserve the essence of ‘Made in Italy’.
