CSIR-Central Leather Research Institute (CLRI) and the Leather Sector Skill Development Council (LSSC) have taken a major step to strengthen the future of the leather industry by signing an MoU on 12 August 2025 in Kanpur Leather Cluster.
The agreement focuses on creating industry ready curriculum, skill development and upskilling programs tailored to the needs of leather workers.
Dr K J Sreeram, Director of CSIR-CLRI, Mr Mukhtarul Amin, Chairman of LSSC and Mr Sanjay Kumar, Executive Director of LSSC were present at the signing ceremony.
The event drew strong participation from tanners across the Kanpur region who welcomed the move as a boost to local talent development.
