Leather Working Group Welcomes David Wright as New Chair

Leather Working Group (LWG) has announced the appointment of David Wright, Vice President of Advanced Technological Developments at Tapestry, as its new Chair and member of the LWG Board.

With over 35 years of experience in the leather industry, David’s career covers everything from tanneries and chemical supply to luxury leather goods.

He has been part of LWG since its very beginning in 2005 and has played a key role across several areas of the organisation’s work from the Technical Subgroup and the Standards Development Programme Board to serving earlier on the LWG Board.

His deep industry knowledge and collaborative approach will be crucial as LWG continues to push for positive change across the global leather sector.

The organisation also extended its gratitude to outgoing Chair Thomas Gregor, who led LWG through a significant period of change over the past two years. At the Board’s request, Thomas will stay on as an independent advisor to ensure a smooth transition.

The entire LWG community joins in welcoming David Wright to his new role and thanking Thomas Gregor for his leadership and continued support.
