TFL has opened a new Leather Competence Centre in Kanpur Uttar Pradesh marking a major step in its plan to support leather manufacturers across India.
The centre has been redesigned from the ground up and now includes advanced leather testing tools along with an on-site ETP plant that helps teams develop products faster with more accuracy.
The new facility is placed close to key leather hubs in Kanpur Delhi and Jalandhar. It will offer specialised technical support for shoe uppers leather goods upholstery and garments.
TFL says the centre will strengthen customer service by offering quick solutions backed by its well known chemicals and technical expertise.
The ribbon cutting ceremony took place on 13 November 2025. It was led by CEO Andre Lanning and Chief People Officer Kaija Korolainen who were joined by business partners and customers.
Lanning said the centre reflects TFL’s long term commitment to India and its growing leather sector.
The opening of the Kanpur centre is expected to improve support for manufacturers across multiple leather categories.
