Mohammed Azhar Takes Charge as President of Indian Leather Products Association

Mohammed Azhar Founder and Director of Crescent Export has assumed charge as President of the Indian Leather Products Association (ILPA). The appointment marks a key leadership moment for the leather products industry.

Industry leaders welcomed the change and expressed confidence in a focused push toward growth innovation and sustainability. The new leadership is expected to strengthen collaboration across the sector and improve India’s global presence in leather products.

The Indian Leather Products Association was established in 1987. It represents manufacturers and exporters of leather and leather products across India. The association has its head office in Kolkata and a regional office in Chennai.

ILPA brings manufacturer, exporters and merchant exporters on one common platform. Its goal is to support growth and long term development of the leather sector.

The association works closely with professional bodies, import associations and chambers of commerce abroad. This helps promote Indian leather products in global markets.

ILPA regularly conducts market studies overseas. It also organizes and participates in national and international trade fairs exhibitions workshops and seminars to support its members.

As a non profit association, ILPA offers services to the industry at reasonable charges. It also helps international buyers connect with Indian leather goods manufacturers through customized matchmaking.

The leadership change signals a renewed push for unity growth and global competitiveness in India’s leather products industry.
