Chinese Leather Shoes Exports Fall 10.7% to $6.59 Billion with 470 Million Pairs Between January and November 2025

According to official data released by the China Leather Industry Association (CLIA) from January to November 2025 the first 11 months 2025, overall export value of the Chinese leather industry which also includes leather, footwear, leather garments, bags and cases stood at $75.06 billion in the first 11 months of 2025, which is a drop of 10.5%.

Now lets look the footwear sector. From January to November 2025, sales revenue of footwear companies dropped by 11.5% compared to last year.

Exports of footwear reached 8.18 billion pairs, down 1.3% from 2024. In value terms, exports earned $37.64 billion, a fall of 10.7% year-on-year.

Imports also slipped with 0.16 billion pairs coming in, valued at $4.92 billion, down 14.8% and 9.3% respectively.

Leather shoes faced even steeper declines. Sales revenue of major leather shoe enterprises fell by 14.0% year-on-year. Export of leather shoes totaled 0.47 billion pairs worth $6.59 billion, down 5.3% in quantity and 10.7% in value.

Imports of leather shoes also dropped sharply, with 48.469 million pairs valued at $2.22 billion, falling 22.9% in quantity and 17.5% in value.

So in 2025 from January to November, the total exports of footwear and leather shoes together reached $44.23 billion while total imports amounted to $7.14 billion.
