Since Jan 1 2026 he has also been serving as Managing Director of the German Footwear Institute (DSI) and cads which focuses on standards in footwear and leather goods.

HDS/L Chairman Carl-August Seibel welcomed the appointment and shared his confidence in the new leadership.

“We are delighted to have secured Torben Schütz for our association. This sets the course for a successful future.”

As Managing Director Torben Schütz says his focus will be on strong dialogue and practical support for members both offline and online.

“My main focus is networking on a personal and digital level but above all informing and supporting our HDS/L members in a wide variety of areas.”
