RISE Conclave 2026 is a national innovation event focused on connecting research, industry, start-ups and entrepreneurs.
The conclave carries strategic importance for India’s Viksit Bharat vision. The forum is designed to align research, industrial capacity and entrepreneurial innovation with major national missions, including Atmanirbhar Bharat, Make in India, Digital India and Startup India.
Start-ups are expected to gain better visibility into government support funding opportunities and policy frameworks. Industries are expected to benefit from access to scalable innovations and new technologies.
The conclave will run across multiple themes including clean energy, civil infrastructure, advanced materials, next-generation leather, lifestyle materials, agriculture, manufacturing, life sciences, healthcare, AI, semiconductors and electronics.
The two day conclave will be held on 14 and 15 February, 2026 at Chennai Trade Centre in Chennai.
Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh will inaugurate the event on 14 February.
The conclave is being organised by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) through its Tamil Nadu laboratories: CSIR-Structural Engineering Research Centre, CSIR-Central Leather Research Institute (CLRI) and CSIR-Central Electrochemical Research Institute.
Ahead of the event a joint press meet was held at the CSIR-Central Leather Research Institute campus in Chennai on February 12, 2026.
Dr. N. Anandavalli, Director of CSIR-Structural Engineering Research Centre said the event aims to create a common platform for start-ups, MSMEs, industry, academia, students and the public. She added that umbrella MoUs will be exchanged between CSIR academic institutions and incubation centres.
Dr. P. Thanikaivelan, Director of CSIR-Central Leather Research Institute said more than 100 exhibitors mostly start-ups and MSMEs are expected to participate. The programme will feature start-ups, industry interaction sessions, expert lectures and entrepreneurship initiatives.
Dr. K. Ramesha, Director of CSIR-Central Electrochemical Research Institute said CSIR plans deeper collaboration with university incubation ecosystems, where CSIR will act as a technology provider and universities will support incubation and mentoring.
Officials said Dr. Jitendra Singh will outline the roadmap for strengthening India’s innovation ecosystem during the inaugural session.
Shri L. Murugan will attend as Chief Guest for the valedictory function.
There is no fee for attending. Registration will be done on the spot.
The conclave is expected to boost partnerships showcase technologies and strengthen India’s innovation driven growth.
