The global fashion, accessories and footwear design competition Real Leather. Stay Different. (RLSD) Now in its sixth year has become one of the well known platforms for young designers by connecting students with international brands, industry mentors and career opportunities.
RLSD said previous finalists have gone on to work with brands including Dior, Christian Louboutin, Loewe, Balmain and Ulla Johnson.
In 2025, HUGO BOSS offered a fully funded 6 week work experience programme at its operations in Ticino, Switzerland. Christopher Koerber, Managing Director of HUGO BOSS Ticino, presented the prize to Sara Jaqueline Morandini, winner of the International Accessories Category, during the RLSD International Final in Taiwan.
RLSD 2025 Overall Winner Jamie O’Grady also secured a role as Associate Designer at New Balance after the competition.
The competition focuses on commercial awareness, material understanding and responsible design thinking while giving students exposure to leading industry professionals and educators.

RLSD 2026 invites entries across apparel, accessories and footwear categories from students worldwide.
Shortlisted finalists will present their work before an international judging panel and compete for professional experiences and industry prizes.
Entries are free of charge and close on 30 June 2026.
