Tyson Foods announced that Jeff Schomburger has been named President and Chief Executive Officer effective October 4, 2026. He will succeed Donnie King after a transition period starting in July following King’s 43 year career with the company.

Tyson Foods, one of the world’s largest meat and leather producers, confirmed the leadership change as part of its long-term succession plan.

Schomburger brings 35 years of experience from Procter & Gamble (P&G) where he held senior leadership roles and retired in 2019 as Global Sales Officer.

Schomburger has served on key board committees including Compensation, Audit and Strategy & Acquisition and became Chair of Strategy and Acquisition in 2021.

He has also been Lead Independent Director since 2025 and worked closely with King on oversight and business engagement.

Donnie King will remain on the Tyson Foods Board and support a smooth transition over the coming months. During his tenure as CEO, he led the company through the COVID-19 pandemic, improved execution, strengthened profit and the balance sheet and boosted innovation and efficiency, including consolidating corporate staff at the Springdale Arkansas headquarters.
