Primeasia Releases 2025 Sustainability Report and Outlines 2030 Sustainability Roadmap

Primeasia has released its 2025 Sustainability Report, outlining progress across its environmental and social initiatives while introducing a 5 year sustainability roadmap through 2030. They also announced new climate targets, improved traceability and stronger resource management efforts across its operations.

The roadmap is backed by new Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) commitments that will guide the company’s sustainability strategy through 2030. In December 2025, Primeasia verified its near term 2035 and long term 2050 net zero targets covering Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 emissions, including Forest, Land and Agriculture (FLAG) emissions.

“In 2025, we made meaningful strides in our sustainability journey. Most notably, we achieved verification of our science-based emissions reduction targets. … This progress is in large part due to our global teams that work tirelessly and passionately to create positive impact for our business. Sustainability is a journey and we enter the next year ready to build on the progress we have made.”

– Jonathan Clark, CEO, Primeasia Leather

During 2025, the company completed 38 audits and maintained LWG Gold Medal ratings for its tanneries. Primeasia is also introducing an Operating Unit (OU) scorecard to shift from a reactive compliance model to a more proactive approach.

Traceability to the birth farm or group of farms reached 17% in 2025. The company aims to achieve 100% traceability by 2030 while continuing to collaborate with industry partners to standardize traceability data.

Primeasia also strengthened its chemical management and water stewardship efforts during the year. The company reported that 85% of sourced chemicals were ZDHC Level 3 certified, up from 75% in 2024. Recycled water usage reached 60% in 2025 as Primeasia works toward its goal of using 100% recycled water by 2040.

To support its climate strategy, Primeasia installed 5.766 MWp of rooftop solar capacity in Vietnam, helping renewable energy account for 46% of total energy use across its facilities in 2025. The company aims to reach 100% renewable energy by 2040.

Primeasia also diverted 79% of its waste from landfills during 2025 and is targeting zero waste to landfill by 2040.

“Sustainability is not a standalone program at Primeasia, it is embedded in our core values and in the way we operate, innovate and serve our customers. The momentum we built in 2025 positions us to move faster, collaborate more deeply and deliver meaningful results in the years ahead.”

– Camille Mori, Chief Sustainability Officer, Primeasia Leather

On the social front, Primeasia is developing systems to track and analyse production worker data against global living wage benchmarks. The company also completed more than 3,400 hours of community service in 2025 and is developing a worker wellbeing strategy with a goal of reaching 25,000 people by 2040.
