Sabyasachi the Indian luxury fashion brand founded by Sabyasachi Mukherjee is expanding into new categories including footwear, small leather goods, fragrances and more as it works towards becoming a global luxury lifestyle brand, according to The Economic Times.
The brand’s first fragrance is expected to launch within the next 18 months. It is also rapidly building its small leather goods portfolio including products such as wallets which the company sees as an important growth category particularly for gifting.
Footwear will eventually follow the fragrance launch with the brand planning to enter both women’s and men’s footwear.
The expansion is part of Sabyasachi’s wider strategy to build a global luxury lifestyle brand. Rather than expanding purely for commercial reasons, the brand is focusing on categories that fit its cultural and aesthetic identity.
The brand recorded revenues of ₹650 crore (~$75 million) in the financial year 2026. Jewellery contributed around 33% of turnover at approximately ₹200 crore (~$23 million), while its accessories business is expected to cross ₹100 crore (~$12 million) this year.
The brand currently has retail operations in Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and New York City. It has also been using exhibitions and partnerships with leading international retailers to assess markets before establishing permanent stores.
