Pakistan’s footwear export quantity fell 10.5% during the first 2 months of fiscal year 2026-27 while export value declined 1.2% compared with the same period last year according to data from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.
Pakistan exported 3.14 million pairs of footwear during July-August 2026 down from 3.51 million pairs in July-August 2025. Export value stood at $33.21 million compared with $33.60 million a year earlier.
Leather footwear recorded a different trend with export quantity increasing 8% to 1.67 million pairs from 1.55 million pairs in the corresponding period last year. Export value also increased 1.24% to $27.61 million from $27.27 million.
Canvas footwear exports increased 66.5% in quantity to 31,635 pairs while export value rose 58.1% to $680,000 from $430,000 a year earlier.
Exports of other footwear category recorded the sharpest decline among the main categories. Export quantity fell 26.2% to 1.43 million pairs from 1.93 million pairs while export value declined 16.7% to $4.92 million from $5.90 million.
If we just look at the August figures it showed a mixed performance. Total footwear exports in August 2026 stood at $16.02 million almost unchanged from $16.02 million in August 2025 while export quantity fell 25% to 1.40 million pairs from 1.87 million pairs.
Within August exports leather footwear value increased 3.8% YoY to $13.01 million although quantity declined 1.1% to 770,812 pairs.
Canvas footwear recorded strong YoY growth. Pakistan exported 12,538 pairs worth $287,858 in August 2026 up 257.21% in volume and 269.05% in value compared with August 2025.
Other footwear category declined sharply in August 2026. Pakistan exported 623,289 pairs worth $2.72 million in August 2026 down 42.91% in volume and 20.21% in value compared with August 2025.
The figures show that Pakistan’s footwear export performance in the first 2 months of FY2026-27 was largely supported by leather footwear, while lower shipments of other footwear category weighed on the overall export quantity and value.
