Bentley Motors has released its Responsible Raw Material Sourcing Policy Statement to improve standards in animal welfare, forest management and ethical supply chains. The move is part of its Beyond100+ strategy and applies to materials used at its Crewe facility.
Bentley, a luxury automotive brand, said the policy will guide sourcing of key interior materials like leather, wool and wood veneers. The company aims to ensure all materials meet strict environmental, social and ethical standards.
The policy follows the framework of Volkswagen Group and uses a risk based due diligence system. It focuses on traceability, transparency and continuous improvement across its global supplier network.
Bentley has placed strong focus on animal welfare. All leather hides must follow EU or equivalent national laws, backed by certifications and third party checks. Suppliers must also follow strict rules on prohibited practices and provide regular compliance reports.
“True luxury today is defined not only by exceptional craftsmanship and performance, but by the values that sit behind every material choice. Our Responsible Raw Material Sourcing Policy reflects Bentley’s long-term commitment to responsible sourcing, animal welfare and sustainable supply chains, ensuring our products continue to embody responsible luxury for generations to come.”
– Marine Godot, Head of Sustainability and Materials, Bentley Motors
Bentley said it will work closely with suppliers through risk checks, training and transparent reporting to implement the policy across its value chain.
The Beyond100+ strategy aims to make sustainability central to Bentley’s business, focusing on low carbon operations, responsible sourcing and innovation.
