The Brazilian leather industry experienced a dynamic month in July, marked by notable participation in the Shoes and Leather Vietnam fair in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and Lineapelle New York in the USA. These international events are expected to generate an impressive $25.45 million in business over the next year, demonstrating the robust potential of Brazil’s leather sector.
At the Shoes and Leather Vietnam fair, Brazilian companies such as America Leather, A. P. Müller, Durlicouros, Curtume CBR, and JBS Couros collectively reported over $3.1 million in immediate business deals. Looking ahead, the prospects for the next 12 months are even more promising, with an estimated $10.55 million in potential deals.
“The fair’s outcomes were three times higher than last year’s edition. This increased participation underscores Vietnam’s growing importance in our export strategy.”
Rogério Cunha from CICB’s Trade Intelligence
Meanwhile, at Lineapelle New York, 14 Brazilian exhibitors closed deals worth $2.55 million, with expectations of reaching $14.9 million by July 2025.
“As the second-largest market for Brazilian exports, the USA values relationship-building. Lineapelle New York is a key event for major brands and new designers, making our presence crucial.”

The Brazilian leather industry’s international agenda continues to expand. In September, the industry will participate in the All China Leather Exhibition in Shanghai, China, followed by Lineapelle in Milan, Italy. The year will wrap up with ANPIC in León, Mexico, in October, showcasing Brazil’s ongoing commitment to international market presence.
In conclusion, the Brazilian leather industry’s active involvement in prominent international fairs and the substantial business prospects that have emerged underscore its significant role in the global market. With upcoming events in China, Italy, and Mexico, Brazil continues to strengthen its leather trade, showcasing the quality and appeal of its products worldwide.
