Egypt’s Cabinet has approved the establishment of Sky Nova for Leather Manufacturing, Trading and Tanning S.A.E. under the private free zone system, adding a new leather and footwear manufacturing project to the country’s Robbiki Leather City.

The $12 million project will be developed on a 30,000 square meter site in Robbiki, Badr City, Cairo Governorate. Sky Nova will manufacture leather goods and footwear.

The project is expected to employ around 1,000 workers, including 900 Egyptians in specialized positions.

Operations are scheduled to begin on September 1, 2027. The company will target a 45% local component ratio and is expected to produce around 2.5 million pairs of shoes annually.

Sky Nova’s exports are projected to reach around $148.4 million from the fourth quarter of 2027 through 2032 according to the official statement.

The project is also expected to support technology transfer and workforce development while strengthening Egypt’s position as a regional manufacturing and export hub.
