Evolved By Nature Partners with Authentic Thai Leather to Drive Sustainable Leather Production

In a recent partnership, Evolved By Nature, a leader in natural peptide technology, has joined forces with Authentic Thai Leather (ATL), a collective of Bangkok’s top tanneries, to advance eco-friendly leather manufacturing.

ATL, a newly launched group of six founding tanneries, aims to deliver high-quality, performance-driven leather while prioritizing sustainability and worker safety.

This coalition includes Chun Wang Brothers Co., Kongsiri Tannery, Limsilp Tannery Co., Thai Tanning Co., SF Leather, and Vaikijanek, all based in Thailand.

Through this strategic partnership, ATL will exclusively use Evolved By Nature’s Activated Silk™ L1—an innovative biofinishing system that enhances leather durability and appearance without harmful chemicals.

Activated Silk™ L1 consists of a biodegradable, carbon-reductive coating system that provides durability in color and flex, as well as resistance to water, stains, and wear.

This natural alternative eliminates the need for PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances), often known as “forever chemicals,” and synthetic inputs like polyurethane, which are traditionally used in leather finishing processes.

One of the most significant benefits of this partnership is ATL’s commitment to reducing health risks for tannery workers.

Traditional leather finishing often involves hazardous chemicals that increase the risk of cancer and other illnesses among workers. Activated Silk™ L1 addresses these concerns by offering a non-toxic, non-carcinogenic biofinishing alternative.

With this technology, ATL is reducing carbon dioxide emissions and energy consumption while creating a safer environment for workers.

In addition to environmental benefits, ATL offers the leather market a cost-effective, high-quality supply chain that challenges conventional production methods.

With their combined experience, the six founding tanneries are leveraging Evolved By Nature’s technology to produce premium leather products that meet the demands of global fashion and lifestyle brands.

“As founding members of Authentic Thai Leather, we recognized the chance to create safer, more sustainable leather. Our partnership with Evolved By Nature allows us to use naturally derived ingredients while protecting our workers and the environment.”
