A fire at a leather processing facility in Bucaramanga, Colombia, caused estimated losses of around 110 million pesos on August 28, although no injuries were reported. The fire damaged machinery, raw materials and part of the building used for leather processing according to local media reports.

The incident was reported at around 5:30 pm at a property located near Calle 27 and Carrera 2 in the La Y area of the La Feria neighbourhood.

According to authorities, the facility operated as a leather processing unit. The fire affected machinery used in leather processing, along with raw materials and other items stored inside the warehouse.

Losses related to machinery and raw materials were estimated at approximately 80 million pesos, while damage to the building was estimated at around 30 million pesos.

Emergency teams later secured and inspected the site after bringing the fire under control. Authorities confirmed that no one was injured during the incident.

Investigations are now underway to determine how the fire started and the circumstances surrounding the incident.
