French Leather Glove Exports Remain Stable While Imports Drop 4% to €17.2 Million in Q1 2026

French leather glove exports reached €7.71 million during the first quarter of 2026, between January and March, remaining largely unchanged from €7.72 million in the same period last year, according to Alliance France Cuir.

The French leather glove industry also reported imports of €17.24 million between January and March 2026, down 4% from €17.88 million in Q1 2025.

Protection gloves remained the largest leather glove export category. Exports were unchanged at €3.50 million in both periods.

City gloves were the only export category to record growth. Exports increased 2% from €2.66 million in Q1 2025 to €2.72 million in Q1 2026.

Sports glove exports declined 4% from €1.56 million to €1.49 million.

Now, let’s look at the import side of the French leather glove industry in Q1 2026.

France’s leather glove imports declined from €17.88 million in Q1 2025 to €17.24 million in Q1 2026, representing a 4% decrease.

Protection gloves remained the largest leather glove import category. Imports edged down 1% from €11.53 million in Q1 2025 to €11.46 million in Q1 2026.

Sports gloves recorded the sharpest decline among the import categories. Imports fell 16% from €2.86 million to €2.41 million.

City glove imports also decreased, dropping 3% from €3.49 million in Q1 2025 to €3.37 million in Q1 2026.
