Global Leather Industry Unites to Celebrate World Leather Day on 26th April

On April 26, the global leather industry came together to celebrate World Leather Day, marking a unified effort to shine a light on leather’s real value.

World Leather Day was started by Leather Naturally in 2022 to help people understand & celebrate the real story of leather.

This year’s theme, Beyond The Surface, encouraged everyone from tanneries to designers, brands to artisans to share the truth about leather’s role in a circular, responsible future. It was a day of appreciation, education, and global unity.

Members of the industry used the day to post stories, videos, and personal messages across social media. Designers, makers, and leather experts shared how leather, when responsibly made, offers durability, repairability, and beauty that lasts for years.

The celebration was not just about pride in the material but also a call to action. Industry members urged the public to look deeper, challenge common misconceptions, and understand the transparent efforts behind leather production.

As the celebrations wrapped up, one message stood strong this is just the beginning. The industry remains committed to sharing the real story of leather every day, not just on April 26.
