Henan Prosper & Colomer Moda Co., Ltd. has acquired French leather raw material company LES CUIRS DE L’OUEST (LCO) through its Italian subsidiary Ausonia.
The acquisition was completed in April 2026 and strengthens the group’s position in the global premium bovine leather market and Europe’s high-end leather supply network.
LCO is a French leather raw material company with strong roots in Europe’s leather supply chain since 1927, specializing in the collection and selection of raw hides and skins of European origin.
Ausonia, the Italian company leading the acquisition, serves as Henan Prosper & Colomer Moda’s strategic platform for expanding its presence in the premium vegetable-tanned leather segment.
Since acquiring Ausonia in 2024, the group has upgraded its production base in Tuscany.
The company expanded facilities, introduced sustainable technologies and established a new research and development centre at the site.
At the same time, Henan Prosper & Colomer Moda is building a new vegetable-tanning leather manufacturing plant in China.
The company said it plans to integrate Ausonia’s expertise into its operations and create production synergies between Europe and China.
The move is expected to help address the supply gap for vegetable-tanned leather among customers in China and across Asia.
According to the company, the acquisition of LCO through Ausonia creates a stronger foundation for the future growth of its global bovine leather business.
