Italian Exotic Leather Maker White Line Acquires Reptilis Shares to Strengthen Market Position

White Line has officially entered the share capital of Reptilis, acquiring the stakes of three departing partners. Both companies specialize in exotic leathers, making this partnership a strategic move that strengthens their presence in the industry.

With this merger, White Line and Reptilis form the first independent group capable of offering the full range of high-end leathers, from karung to premium crocodile skins.

According to Alberto Panterani, CEO of White Line, this move significantly enhances their business, combining White Line’s expertise in crocodile and ostrich leather with Reptilis’ specialization in python, lizard, ayer, and other water snakes.

“By making this merger, the offering is expanded, the structure becomes much stronger and more comprehensive, both technically and commercially, and the service to brands improves,”

This partnership ensures a broader product range and a more robust service model, benefiting luxury brands worldwide.

While White Line and Reptilis have already been working together, they will continue to operate independently for now. A full-fledged merger is scheduled for the first quarter of 2026 after a period of gradual integration.

The manufacturing base will be White Line’s current facility in Via del Cuoio, Ponte a Egola.

A new facility, just 50 meters away, is also under construction, which will house warehouses, offices, and additional production units. This expansion will optimize processes such as shaving, drying, and dry cleaning, ensuring greater efficiency and scalability.

Panterani emphasizes that this move is more than just combining revenues. The objective is to achieve economies of scale and increase sales to €20 million by 2026.

This expansion will also boost employment by at least 25-30%, reinforcing their commitment to growth.

“All employees 13 from Reptilis and 35 from White Line will be retained,” confirms Panterani. Additionally, the company aims to expand its workforce further, strengthening its technical and commercial teams.

First Joint Appearance at Lineapelle Milano 2025

White Line and Reptilis will officially present their combined portfolio at Lineapelle Milano from February 25-27, 2025. At the event, they will showcase a unified booth, alongside Italhide, displaying their entire range of exotic leathers.

“Ours is a countertrend choice. Instead of suffering the market, we decided to face it,”

Simone Cristiani of Reptilis.

“This is a brave but well-calculated decision,” adds Panterani. “Crisis periods are opportunities to reinvent and return to success, and we believe in this philosophy.”
