Italian Leather Maker Gruppo Vecchia Toscana Acquires Manifattura Toscana Pellami

Gruppo Vecchia Toscana, based in Florence, has taken over the management of Manifattura Toscana Pellami, a specialist in heavy bovine leather used for belts, leather goods, and home furnishings.

This new step marks a vertical integration for the group, allowing them to gain more control over their supply chain and offer a broader range of products.

The announcement was made official on April 15, 2025. Talks between the two companies began at the end of 2024 and quickly turned into a full business deal.

“Manifattura Toscana Pellami caught our attention because it works in a premium segment of the belt market that we had only slightly touched before,”

Francesco Testai, Sales Manager, Gruppo Vecchia Toscana

The company will now operate as a commercial division within Gruppo Vecchia Toscana. It will keep its brand, staff, and technical team, made up of seven people in total.

“Our goal with this acquisition is to widen our product range and cover every market segment, from premium to top luxury. We want to remain independent and be active across as many market levels as possible,”

Francesco Testai, Sales Manager, Gruppo Vecchia Toscana

He also shared that the group believes in bringing together strong industry players to create a more diverse and competitive business, especially during challenging times like now.
