Lagos Leather Fair 2026, Africa’s premier leather platform, began countdown for its 9th edition with a press conference under this year’s theme “BEYOND THE HIDE: Scaling Value. Building Industry. Driving Growth” and unveiled the blueprint for the upcoming fair. The fair is scheduled for June 27-28, 2026 at Ecobank Pan African Centre (EPAC), Lagos, Nigeria – Register Now
The fair started in 2017 with a simple idea. Today it has grown into West Africa’s biggest platform for advancing local manufacturing.
At the press briefing organizers laid out how far the fair has come and where it is heading. This year the focus is on one thing, turning raw creative talent across Africa into a structured leather industry that can compete on the global stage.
Femi Olayebi, Convener and Creative Director of Femi Handbags, highlighted the 9 year journey of LLF, stressing the move beyond raw materials to stronger market value, infrastructure development and sustainable cross continental growth, while reflecting on early challenges and operational effort.
Other speakers covered execution and partnership needs including Olufunke Jones on operations, Kola Oshalusi on creative direction and planned runway shows, Signature Piece Challenge with ₦1,000,000 prize and LLF Awards and Owodunni Temiloluwa on The LLF Atelier as a live mini manufacturing hub with demonstrations.
Otejiri Ejumabone led The Maker’s Bench hands on segment while designers Morin Obaweya and Anita Aisha Ugah shared industry growth experiences.
