Mindhive Global Signs Multi-Year Agreement with JBS Couros for AI-Powered Leather Grading System

Mindhive Global, a leader in AI-driven leather grading technology, has signed a multi-year agreement with JBS Couros, one of the largest global leather processors. This partnership will see Mindhive’s cutting-edge automated leather grading system implemented across 13 wet-blue leather processing and distribution sites in Brazil, with the rollout expected to be completed by June 2025.

This deal builds upon Mindhive’s ongoing success with JBS Couros in the United States, reinforcing their strong partnership and commitment to modernizing leather production with AI-powered precision.

Mindhive has already completed the installation of its first wet-blue leather grading machine at a JBS Couros site in Brazil. This advanced system can process up to 360 hides per line, per hour, with an impressive grading accuracy rate of over 91%.

“JBS Couros is committed to continually enhancing efficiency in our production lines. The implementation of Mindhive Global’s technology will allow us to set new standards for leather grading, ensuring that every hide meets the highest criteria for our global customers. This partnership will help us lead the way in modernizing leather processing and delivering excellence in every batch.”

Guilherme Motta, CEO of JBS’s Leather Division

The AI-powered system can inspect and classify hides in just four seconds, mapping defects across 25+ defect categories to ensure consistent, high-quality results.

“This partnership with JBS Couros is truly game-changing for us. At Mindhive, we pride ourselves on delivering world-class leather grading solutions. By collaborating with JBS Couros, we are demonstrating the global scalability and reliability of our AI-powered system, and we are excited to help standardize and optimize their leather production processes.”

James Bayly, CEO of Mindhive Global

JBS Couros will benefit from Mindhive’s data-driven approach, allowing for:

  • Verified classification of hides
  • Early-stage defect detection
  • Standardized grading across large-scale operations
  • Reduction in waste and repetitive sorting
  • Centralized performance tracking via dashboards

These capabilities will enable JBS Couros to benchmark performance across multiple sites, optimize yield, and enhance the efficiency of the leather supply chain.
