The 6th edition of the Made In Nigeria Shoe Expo (MINSE 6.0) is set to spotlight the opportunities and challenges within Nigeria’s leather and textile industry, uniting critical stakeholders to explore strategies for growth.
Scheduled to take place in Abuja from December 4th to 6th, 2024, this significant event will gather government representatives, artisans, and businesses to discuss practical solutions to strengthen Nigeria’s leather sector.
MINSE has established itself as West Africa’s leading platform for leather and textile innovation and collaboration.
This year, the event aims to foster partnerships across multiple segments, including leather artisans, tanneries, producers of finished leather goods, chemical manufacturers, textile companies, and original equipment manufacturers.
By bringing these sectors together, the Expo seeks to build a resilient leather ecosystem that leverages Nigeria’s unique strengths and promotes synergy in the region.
The event’s organizers, LOGSAMES, have strategically focused on attracting key stakeholders from various government bodies, including Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
According to Mr. Emmanuel Ugbodaga, the National Coordinator of MINSE, the Expo will feature an impressive lineup of delegates, such as Footwear and Leather Associations, Commercial and Trade Departments of Diplomatic Missions, and Vocational and Research Institutions.
International development partners and relevant National Assembly committee members are also expected to join, underscoring the importance of a cooperative approach to advancing the industry.
With the theme, “Harnessing Niche Markets in Nigeria’s Leather and Textile Industry,” MINSE 6.0 is designed to address pressing issues and opportunities in the sector.
This includes examining niche market opportunities that can enhance local and international market penetration, as well as facilitating access for international manufacturers to Nigeria’s prominent leather and textile associations.
Additionally, the Expo will highlight resources for procuring essential chemicals, machinery, and spare parts, all critical to the local industry’s growth.
Mr. Ugbodaga emphasized that the Expo will serve as a policy-promoting platform, bringing to light the importance of supportive reforms aimed at expanding Nigeria’s footwear and leather sectors. By aligning with industry experts, government bodies, and international manufacturers, MINSE is committed to accelerating growth and boosting Nigeria’s competitive edge in the global leather market.
