Pakistan’s footwear industry recording 15.48% growth in exports during the first eight months (July–February) of the fiscal year 2024–25. The country’s footwear exports reached $126.4 million, a significant jump from $109.5 million in the same period of FY24.
The leather footwear segment, Pakistan’s largest footwear export category, played a key role in this growth. Leather shoe exports increased by 14.94%, rising from $85.37 million to $98.12 million.
The canvas footwear segment also performed well, recording a 15.20% increase, with exports climbing from $1.72 million to $1.99 million. Meanwhile, all other footwear categories experienced an even stronger growth of 17.58%, reaching $26.31 million.
In February 2025, Pakistan’s footwear exports amounted to $16.98 million, reflecting an 11.57% year-on-year increase from $15.22 million in February 2024.
The growth was driven by a 29.26% increase in exports of other footwear categories, while canvas footwear exports rose by 17.56%. Leather footwear exports, however, recorded a 6.16% increase, a modest rise compared to other segments.
Despite the year-on-year growth, February’s footwear exports declined 9.20% compared to January 2025, when exports were recorded at $18.7 million. The monthly drop was mainly due to a 12.71% decline in leather footwear exports, which impacted overall figures.
However, canvas footwear exports saw a 22.02% increase, and other footwear categories grew by 1.09%, partially offsetting the decline in leather footwear.
