Sepici Shuts Down Izmir Tannery after 96 Years and Launches Global Venture

After nearly a century in the leather business, Sepici is starting a fresh chapter. Known for producing top-quality chrome-tanned and vegetable-tanned leathers, the company has been a key player in the global leather industry since 1930.

In December 2024, Sepici made the major decision to close its long-running tannery in Torbalı, İzmir. This move ended a historic era.

The newly formed Sepici İç ve Dış Ticaret A.Ş. is now leading the company’s future. It brings together experienced Sepici family members and outside professionals to deliver leather sourcing, subcontract tanning and warehousing services to customers around the world.

Thanks to partnerships with reliable tanneries in Europe, Asia and South America, Sepici can now offer high-quality leathers that fit a variety of markets. The company operates out of Istanbul and Italy, with strong commercial teams also in Canada and the US.
