Turkiye’s leather industry recorded the lowest capacity utilization rate among the country’s manufacturing branches in September at 59.8% according to the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkiye (CBRT).
The rate came as overall manufacturing capacity utilization in Turkiye rose to 74.2% in September increasing 0.7% points from August
The leather industry’s 59.8% utilization rate was significantly below the national manufacturing average. In comparison wood products manufacturing recorded the highest capacity utilization among the specific manufacturing branches monitored by the survey at 83.7%.
The September survey covered 1,982 companies across Turkiye’s manufacturing sector. The CBRT said the capacity utilization figures are based on responses from domestic manufacturing units and do not constitute official statistical measurements or forecasts.
