Vietnam’s leather footwear industry is off to a strong start in 2025. According to the latest data from Vietnam’s General Office of Statistics, the country produced 25.8 million pairs of leather shoes and sandals in January alone.
In February, this number rose to 26.6 million pairs, marking a steady increase. In total, 52.5 million pairs were manufactured in the first two months of the year.
This represents a 31.8% growth compared to the same period last year. Additionally, when compared to the first two months of 2024, production saw a 9.2% increase, signaling strong momentum in the sector.
Vietnam remains a key global player in leather footwear manufacturing, with high international demand driving growth.
The industry is concentrated in southern regions, particularly Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai, where many factories focus on both domestic and export markets.
