Yadvendra Singh, Central India Regional Chairman of the Council for Leather Exports (CLE), met Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to discuss the growth of Kanpur’s leather and footwear industry and explore ways to boost exports from the region.
The meeting focused on strategies to strengthen the industry and position Uttar Pradesh as a global hub for leather and footwear manufacturing and exports.
The discussions covered the current challenges faced by Kanpur’s leather and footwear industry, the establishment of new leather and footwear clusters, modernization of industrial infrastructure and measures to improve the global competitiveness of leather and footwear products from Uttar Pradesh.
The meeting also focused on promoting international collaborations, attracting foreign investment, strengthening exports and creating an industry-friendly ecosystem to support the sector’s long-term growth.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath listened to the industry’s suggestions and assured comprehensive support from the Uttar Pradesh Government for the sustainable growth of the leather and footwear sector.
He also reaffirmed the state’s commitment to boosting exports, generating employment and resolving issues faced by entrepreneurs.
