France’s footwear exports reached €1,302.7 million during the first quarter of 2026, down 1% from €1,318.2 million in the same period last year, according to Alliance France Cuir. The French footwear industry also reported imports of €1,922.1 million between January and March 2026, an 8% decline from €2,086.4 million in Q1 2025.

France’s footwear exports declined from €1,318.2 million in Q1 2025 to €1,302.7 million in Q1 2026, representing a 1% decrease.

Footwear other than slippers remained the largest export category. Exports declined 1% from €1,310.1 million in Q1 2025 to €1,295.8 million in Q1 2026.

Slipper exports recorded a steeper decline, falling 15% from €8.1 million to €6.9 million during the same period.

Slippers were the only category to record growth on the import side. Imports increased 5% from €24.9 million to €26.1 million during the same period.
